Unisa online - ABEERU news from the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sc![]() From left: Prof ML Linington, Prof Dlamini, Prof Baijnath & Prof Brown (Head: ABEERU) in the field at Loskopdam Nature Reserve On 17 January 2011, Prof Baijnath, Unisa’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof Linington, Executive Dean: CAES; and Prof Z Dlamini, the newly appointed Deputy Executive Dean of CAES visited the ABEERU site at Loskopdam Nature Reserve, Mpumalanga. Prof LR Brown delivered a short presentation on the research and other activities of ABEERU. In the last five years, ABEERU has produced 20 research articles in accredited scientific journals, 15 master’s and doctoral degrees, 15 publications in popular journals and 30 congress presentations. The unit currently has two research sites, one at Loskopdam Nature Reserve in Mpumalanga, and the other at Samara Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape where national and international students conduct various research projects on the indigenous vegetation and wildlife of these areas.
