Unisa online - Unisa welcomes the new Director of the Music Directorate

Ms Arisa Voges

After the retirement of Mr Japie Saayman, Ms Arisa Voges assumed her duties as the new Director of the Directorate of Music at Unisa on 01 July 2010. It is perhaps worth mentioning that Ms Voges is the first woman ever to be appointed to this influential position at Unisa.

She hails from the Cape where she was Head of Department: Woodwinds at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre in Parow. She has an MBA and HonsBMus from the University of Stellenbosch, and both a Unisa Performer’s and Teacher’s Licentiate.

Ms Voges has been a Unisa music examiner since 2001 and compiled the Unisa saxophone syllabus. She has 23 years professional experience as music teacher and performer. We welcome Ms Voges to Unisa and wish her well with the challenges of her new position.
