Unisa online - Sipho 'Hotstix' Mabuse captivates UnisaUnisa affiliates, staff and students were treated to a magical musical lunch hour concert on Friday 16 April 2010 organised by the Unisa Music Foundation. Musical maestro and composer, Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, together with his nine-piece band, dazzled the crowd with his remarkable performance. The audience danced and sang along to Mabuse’s popular hits like never seen before at Unisa. “Hotstix” told the lecturers to loosen up and “lahl’umlenze” while doing the moon walk and kwasa kwasa dance on stage, and jamming to the 1990s hit song “Shikisha”. “Hotstix” Mabuse is an integral part of the entertainment industry and his contributions to the musical landscape of South Africa is appreciated by music lovers across the world. Mabuse finished off the lunch hour concert with the hit that made him a household name, namely “Burn Out” and the audience got the opportunity to take pictures, shake hands and embrace him on stage. Concert organiser, Alet Joubert of the Unisa Music Foundation, said apart from the concert which took place on Friday, they will be hosting a series of concerts until the end of the year.
