Progressio becomes Unisa’s newest accredited journal

Progressio: South African journal for open and distance learning  practice  has been accredited by the Department of Education (DoE), effective from 1 January 2010.

Progressio is a bi-annual, peer reviewed journal that has been produced by the Directorate: Curriculum and Learning Development (DCLD) at the University of South Africa since 1979. It is published in print as well as online. The purpose of the journal is to disseminate scholarly articles that report on research results as well as high-level learning and teaching in the broad field of open and distance learning practice. It also encourages theoretical and practical debate on matters pertaining to open and distance learning.

The vision for Progressio is to create a forum for distance learning practitioners internationally. It is not only a voice for experienced writers in the field of education and distance learning, but also a training forum for new writers. Authors from developing countries, especially in Africa, are actively encouraged to submit unpublished articles.

We hope that through publishing articles of high quality we will be able to contribute significantly to the development of ODL in southern Africa.
