World Vision employees shine
Prof Linda Cornwell, Dr Derica Kotze and Ms Winnie Mokgupi attended a graduation ceremony on 11 September 2009 in Lilongwe, Malawi, for 74 World Vision employees who had successfully completed the short learning programme (SLP) in Development for Development Practitioners.
The Centre for Development Studies has been training World Vision employees since 1997. The purpose of this SLP is to equip World Vision Development Facilitators with the skills necessary to design, implement and monitor community-based development projects.
In addition to this group, the Centre for Development Studies trained 64 students in Zimbabwe in 2008 and 2009; a group of 54 students from Uganda and 72 from Swaziland are currently enrolled for this programme.
A graduation ceremony will be held in Zimbabwe on 9 October 2009.
