Prof Pityana speaks at the UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education
The UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education took place at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, from 5 to 8 July 2009. The theme of the conference was "The new dynamics of higher education and research for societal change and development".
Prof Barney Pityana, Unisa's Principal and Vice-Chancellor, delivered a speech entitled "The revitalisation of higher education: access, equity and quality" on the second day of the conference. He also made a presentation during a session on Open Educational Resources.
