Unisa still values its retirees
Although visits to Unisa are few and far between these days, Unisa's retirees are still passionate about the university and its achievements and developments. This was very clear at the annual meeting of the Association of Unisa Retirees held at the Protea restaurant on Wednesday 1 April 2009.
A group of about 60 retirees attended the meeting chaired by Prof Bernard van der Linde, Chairperson of the Association.
In his address, Arno Haasbroek (who stood in for Prof Divya Singh, gave an overview of some of the achievements of the last year or so. He also touched on some of the projects scheduled for 2009. Tim Humpage then gave a visual presentation of some of the building projects currently being undertaken on Unisa's campuses.
The future of Unisa is safe if both the current and future generations of Unisa employees display the same level of commitment to the university as this group of retirees.
