With its own press, the largest library in Southern Africa, free online courses in African languages and a sincere interest in serving the community at large, Unisa has much to be proud of! This was the unanimous opinion of the members of the International Ambassadors’ Wives Club that paid the university a visit on Thursday 5 March 2009.
In her welcome address, Dr Marié Ferreira, Executive Director: Corporate Communication and Marketing, shared some interesting facts about Unisa. Thereafter, Dr Gerda Mischke of the Institute for Curriculum and Learning Development encouraged them to register for one of the free online courses in African languages that will shortly be available on the Unisa website. Ms Thabitha Phalafala, Director: Corporate Social Investment, then spoke about some of Unisa’s community engagement and outreach initiatives.
A brief tour to Print Production, Despatch and the Library completed their visit. |
