Mr Brian Molefe, CEO of the Public Investment Corporation, visited the Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) in December last year. He took charge at the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) soon after completing his Master's in Business Leadership (MBL) degree through the SBL in 2003.
During this meeting, the Executive Director and CEO of the SBL, Prof David Abdulai, spoke of the school’s success in becoming one of the top business schools in Africa and shared the future plans of the SBL with one of its most prominent alumni. The ICT and Logistics Manager, Mr André Marrian, also provided Mr Molefe with an overview of how the SBL applies its electronic delivery system to ensure the best in customer service to its valued clients.
Mr Molefe shared with the team that his MBL qualification gave him the insight into leadership and people management that he needed to "corporatize" the PIC, and that it had helped him to develop strategy around what was relevant. Today, the PIC, which is dedicated to fulfilling public sector needs, has assets under management totally R786bn and represents one of the largest asset bases on the African continent. |
