Unisa online - Africanisation of the curriculum: Beyond debate? Colloquium

Prof Rita Maré

The Vice-Principal: Academic and Research (Prof. Rita Maré), the School for Graduate Studies and the Unisa Research Directorate held a successful colloquium on the Africanisation of the Curriculum, with specific focus on whether this is beyond debate, last week on Friday.

Speakers were drawn from various other relevant institutions, and included Prof. S Seepe from the Institute of Race Relations, Prof. S Friedman from the University of Johannesburg, Prof. J Teffo from the University of Limpopo, and Dr K Horthemke of the University of the Witwatersrand.

Apart from the highly informative presentations, this controversial issue led to lively audience discussions.

The day’s proceedings ended with a panel discussion, with participants drawn from various Unisa Colleges.
