UNISA and the Spanish Public University of Navarra signed an agreement on the 23 July 2008 at a signing ceremony. The agreement was signed by Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Mandla Makhanya on behalf of UNISA and his counterpart, Professor Benjamin Zufiaurre on behalf of the Pubic University of Navarra.
The following are areas of interest were expressed in the signed agreement:
- Staff and student exchanges
- Joint research,
- Publication in academic journals,
- Community projects in the areas of inclusive education,
- Early childhood development in rural schools,
- Training in illegal immigration,
- Democracy and cultural values.
The Department of Teacher Education from UNISA will be responsible for the implementation of this agreement.
