Submission of full papers

Formal indications

  • DOC (Microsoft Word for Windows) type documents
  • Typography: Times New Roman 12 or Arial 12
  • Interline: 1.5 line spacing.
  • The paper should be a maximum of 6000 words in MSWord.
  • The paper should be written in English.
  • The paper should be sent as an email attachment to: isteconf@unisa.ac.za by 13 June 2013.

The paper must include the following:
Title of paper; full name(s) of author(s) and their organisational affiliation
Full postal address, e-mail address and telephone and fax numbers for the first author
Number of words

We only accept full papers sent by e-mail and having the standard format.
Communication with the selected authors will be done by e-mail by 22 July 2013.

Guidelines for Authors

Paper Order:   The Paper should be in this order (or similar):

Introduction:     Focus on the background, nature and purpose of the study
Body: Should contain the main message of the study. Should be accompanied by logical presentation and valid techniques adequately described
Conclusion
References

The entire paper should be justified although Section headings should be aligned to the left.

Section Headings (Heading 2)

Should be capitalised, bolded and numbered consecutively, e.g., 1.1, 1.2, etc.

Sub-section Headings (Heading 3)

First letter should be capitalised, bolded and numbered consecutively, e.g., 1.1.1, 1.1.2, etc.

Appearance of paper

First page
This should contain:

  1. Title of the paper
  2. Author (s) name and affiliation
  3. Corresponding author’s address including email

Second page
This should contain:

  1. Title of the paper only

Third page
This should contain:

  1. The Abstract (up to 150 words)
  2. Keywords (up to 5 keywords)

Here after insert the appropriate section heading and the text that follows

Tables:
Tables should be numbered with headings placed above the table.
Use only horizontal lines for the tables.
Tables should be within the text rather than supplied separately
 For figures, graphs and diagrams follow the instructions as in Tables

References
All references should be presented in the American Psychological Association (APA) style
Similarly citations in the text should follow the above referencing style
References should be arranged alphabetically
Where an author has more than one publication in a year denote the references by the letters “a”, “b”, etc.

Examples:

Journal article:
Bosman, T., & Ndlovu, M. (2010). Write the title of the article here. Name of the Journal, 10, 1 – 4.

Book:
Ndlovu M. (2010). Write the title of the book here (4th ed.). Pretoria: Juta.

Chapter in an edited book:
Sithole N. (2010). Write the title of the chapter here. In T. Bosman, & M. Ndlovu, (Eds.), Write the title of the book here (pp. 20 - 34). Pretoria: Juta.
