African Library Summit 2013

The aim of the African Library Summit 2013, the second event of its kind hosted by the Unisa Library, the IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) Regional Office for Africa and the IFLA Africa Section, is to create an opportunity for established leaders to engage on significant issues in support of quality library and information services and librarianship on the African continent.
Target Audience: The African Library Summit 2013 is a top-level meeting of high-ranking officials, including
- African library and information service (LIS) policy makers
- LIS leaders and senior LIS management
- Senior LIS educators and senior LIS researchers
The Pre-summit workshops on 2 July 2013 will be open to all LIS practitioners.
Important dates:
- Deadline for submission of poster abstracts: 26 April 2013
- Notification date of accepted poster abstracts: 30 April 2013
- Final paper submission deadline for Summit proceedings publication: 3 June 2013
- Registration (speakers and delegates): 28 January to 14 June 2013
