The Unisa Directorate Music is proud to present the first International Jazz School from 30 September to 6 October 2012 at the Unisa Muckleneuk and Sunnyside Campuses, Pretoria. The purpose of the Jazz School is to promote the education of music students and teachers in the art of jazz.
We invite students from across the country, between the ages of 15-25 years to participate in the week-long programme of jazz workshops, master classes, lectures, combo sessions and concerts. The programme will be presented by local and international jazz pedagogues and performers catering for all musical levels.
Teachers, parents and students who wish to learn more about jazz, may attend the Jazz School as observers. The Jazz School will be preceded by workshops in Soweto (28 September) and Soshanguve (29 September) and will conclude with a workshop in Polokwane (7 October).
The age limit for participants is 15-25 years. Sponsorships covering course fees, transport and accommodation are available on merit. The closing date for these applications is 15 June 2012.
