Information snippetsAs you might be aware, the Personal Finance Research Unit (PFRU) was launched in 2011 as a joint venture between the School of Accounting Sciences and the Bureau of Market Research (BMR) to create a research platform focusing on personal finance issues of households in South Africa. Since its inception, the PFRU has expanded its research production and information system significantly. This has largely supported a recent decision by the BMR/PFRU to package some research information into a short version summary format. In its planned format, this succinct “Information Snippet” will serve to regularly update PFRU stakeholder groups regarding the most recent macro personal finance information trends. Initially the Information Snippets will be distributed electronically to a selected research audience only. Based on your current leadership position and role and past interest in the activities of the PFRU and personal finance per se, you have been identified as one of the first recipients of the first series of PFRU Information Snippets, which are attached for your convenience. According to plan, you will remain on the distribution list during a trial period (quarter 1 of 2012) except if you prefer to opt-out by responding to this email invitation as “not interested”. BMR/PFRU stakeholders, who prefer to remain on the distribution list, will continue to receive Information Snippets on an ad hoc basis and will be requested to provide feedback at the end of the trial period. In the interim, the BMR/PFRU trusts that the Information Snippets will serve as a rich knowledge base and be valuable to users.
