The Institute for Gender Studies, in collaboration with the Department of English Studies and the Department of Linguistics, kicked off the 2012 CHS’ events calendar with a public lecture by Spanish visiting scholar Prof Maria Lirola on 19 January 2012 at the Bamboo Hall in the Kgorong building, Muckleneuk Campus.

Prof Paul Gundani, soon to be Manager of the Office of Graduate Studies as of 1 February 2012, represented the CHS’ Executive Dean, Prof Rosemary Moeketsi, and welcomed the visiting scholar.
