Master's & doctoral studies
Post-application information
What happens now?
Unisa will review your documents, then let you know within 21 working days of the closing date for applications:
- if you qualify for admission in 2013
- if there is any documentation outstanding
- if your previous qualifications (from other institutions or overseas universities) are accredited
I'm worried because I haven't heard from Unisa
If you applied for a Unisa student number (if you didn't already have one), paid the application fee (if necessary), applied for admission to Unisa during the relevant application period and didn't receive a response from Unisa within 21 working days of the closing date for applications, please send an e-mail to mandd@unisa.ac.za (include your student number in the subject line of your e-mail) or contact the Master's and Doctoral Section on +27 12 441 5702.
The processing time for applications can be fairly long, so it’s advisable to apply as early as possible. How soon you apply will affect the time you have to complete your degree.
Use your time well
Once your application to study through Unisa in 2013 has been accepted and you have received notification of this, you must:
- Master’s students: register for the research proposal module or for your chosen modules for coursework master's degrees. Get more information here.
- Doctoral students: register for the research proposal module for doctoral studies.
It's important to note that you'll only be able to register for the qualification for which you have been chosen.
