Community EngagementThe YRU aims to be involved in the development of a research culture and social upliftment among South African youth. The CEMS community engagement programme include schools in two metropolitan areas within Gauteng, namely the cities of Johannesburg and Tshwane. Schools are visited an encouraged to participate in selected research activities and projects as well as social upliftment programmes focusing on educational, social and financial issues. The YRU involvement in community engagement focuses primarily on conducting research amongst the youth involved with organizations such as ’Acts2Change’ a non-profit organization based in Soshanguve, Tshwane. The essence of the YRU involvement with Acts2Change is to assess the impact of their community-oriented programs. |
