Multi Purpose Community Centres (MPCC)In line with open distance learning (ODL) principles, Unisa has signed agreements with multi-purpose community centres throughout the country in areas identified as remote. Registered Unisa students in South Africa’s rural areas and townships can now access the internet for free for academic purpose (access to myUnisa, e-mails, the digital library, internet research and other computer-based training modules), courtesy of Unisa. What is a Multipurpose Community Centre? At these centres UNISA students in Gauteng may get access to computers in order to type their assignments, log in on myUnisa to communicate with a lecturer and do academic research on the Internet.
