The Southern African Business Review is a scientific research journal of the College of Economic and Management Sciences of the University of South Africa.  It was first published in 1997.  The Southern African Business Review is an open access journal and as from 2008,  published only in electronic form.  Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of articles.

As a fully independent refereed publication, accredited by the South African Department of Education since 2004, and supported by an international Editorial Board, it aims to enhance scholarly research and publication in the fields of the economic and management sciences.

From 2016 the SABR changed the sequence of three numbers per volume to only one volume per annum running from January to December.  This implies that Volume 20, 2016 will consist of only one publication.  Articles will be published continuously throughout the year once it is approved and prepared for publication.
