Welcome to the Department of Jurisprudence

Previously known as the Department of Legal History, Comparative Law and Legal Philosophy. These three fields will give you an idea of the subject fields covered by the Department of Jurisprudence. In addition the Department offers courses in Conflicts of Laws, Roman Law as well as the foundation courses Origins and Foundations of South African Law and Introduction to the Theory of Law.
