Research

Research at the ICC is inherently multi -, inter- and indeed trans-disciplinary in nature, and wherever possible it is conducted in an engaged manner. Our mandate is broad and straddles the fields of sustainability, business and anything that might impact on the interface between these. At present we have:

• One externally sponsored research chair  - the Exxaro Chair in Business and Climate Change and
• One focused research programme –the Responsible Investment Unit

Beyond these core research programmes, we are currently involved in research into general corporate citizenship issues, social development and issues pertaining to higher education. In terms of the latter, this includes active projects considering notions of ‘community engagement’ or ‘engaged scholarship’, as well as the issue of ‘graduateness’.
