Ombudsman

Principles and procedures for the refferal of matters

Introduction

The office of the Unisa Ombudsman was established by the University Council to enhance Unisa’s service delivery and to foster a culture of efficient and effective administration. The Ombudsman draws his or her authority from a founding document, approved by the University Council.

The Ombudsman is a legally qualified, independent person, whose sole function is to investigate complaints referred by any person who feels aggrieved by conduct or lack of conduct which affects him or her on the part of the University.

The purpose of the service is to resolve a matter, once it has been referred to the Ombudsman, without undue delay in an effective and inexpensive manner.

The University Ombudsman position is Vacant.
