Cognitive Sciences Project

Cognitive Sciences is an interdisciplinary venture with huge research powers and potential. Almost all disciplines have already, or will benefit from, insights from this vantage point. Amongst the disciplines rank Anthropology, Archaeology, Education, Languages, Linguistics, Psychology, and Religion.

The project, hosted by the Department of Old Testament and Ancient Near Eastern Studies, aims at incentivising the following:

  • Interdisciplinary research;
  • Research outputs;
  • An increase in student enrolment;
  • Community involvement and public awareness.

Evoked Culture Workshop:  The Ecology of Threat Detection and Precaution

7 – 16 January 2011

Unisa is hosting a workshop on “The Ecology of Threat Detection and Precaution” in January 2011. The workshop is to be attended by international scholars working in the field of the Cognitive Sciences. At the workshop the scholars will have time to work on their own for some time during the day on articles to be published, and get together at times to discuss their progress.
