Our vision and mission

The Unisa Foundation is a statutory and autonomous body which was established in October 2004. The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Trustees. The Board’s role is to assist the Unisa Foundation and the university in raising the necessary donor funds and other resources required to advance the institution’s vision: "towards the African University in the service of humanity".

Mission
The Unisa Foundation is the fundraising and development arm of the University of South Africa and supports the advancement of the institution through:

  • Resource mobilization and institutional advancement
  • Furthering academic outreach through project development 
  • Relationship management with key stakeholders 

Strategic Objectives

The strategic objectives of Unisa Foundation are to:

  • Contribute towards the development of the university’s key advancements projects
  • Motivate the development of quality academic and community engagement projects
  • Contribute towards fundraising initiatives of the university's infrastructure projects
