Students who do not have matriculation exemption or qualifiy for a certificate of conditional exemption, but who hold a senior or school leaving certificate:

There are two possibilities:

    • Such students must register for CSS011 and MAT011. When both CSS011 and MAT011 have been passed the student may apply for a Senate discretionary conditional exemption certificate, and any of the modules from the abovementioned list that have been passed can be recognised as credits towards a BSc degree.

  2. Students who obtained at least 40% (E-symbol) in Mathematics Higher Grade or at least 50% (D-symbol) in Mathematics Standard Grade at matriculation level.

    • Such students must register for CSS011 and two first level modules in the following subjects, except for those modules where the student does not satisfy the stated registration requirements:
Applied Mathematics, Archaeology, Astronomy, Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Information Systems, Operations Research, Physics, Psychology, Statistics, Zoology.

When CSS011 and the two first-level modules have been passed the student may apply for a Senate discretionary conditional exemption certificate. Any of these modules (with the exception of CSS011) can be recognised as credits towards the BSc degree.
