Mr. BR Hanyane
Barry Hanyane is a lecturer at the Florida campus (former TSA) in the department of Public Administration and Management. He joined the Technikon after serving as a junior lecturer at Vista University (Soweto Campus) from April 1997 to August 2002. His previous experience includes data analysis and capturing at Metrofile Pty Limited in Benrose. He was also employed as a market research field worker in the customer service department of Lodge Service (Weltevreden Park).
Mr Hanyane was involved in numerous research, academic and development activities. He obtained his Masters degree in Public Administration from Unisa under the supervision of Prof. J.C. Pauw and Dr. M. Odendaal in 2002. The following year he registered for a Dlitt et. Phil degree in Public Administration with specific research focus on urban renewal issues in South Africa with the same university. He is currently a South Africa Netherlands Partnership and Development (SANPAD) fellow having received the Research Capacity Initiative grant for 2004 to 2005. His main area of interest and focus is local government, local economic development issues, community participation, urban studies, political studies both local and international as well as research methodology with specific reference to Public Administration.
