Welcome to DISA

The purpose of the Department of Institutional Statistics and Analysis (DISA) is to contribute toward the attainment of Unisa’s strategic and operational goals by providing high-quality, relevant, easily accessible and up-to-date information, analysis and institutional research in support of management, planning and decision-making across the institution. DISA is also responsible for fulfilling the University’s statutory obligations regarding the submission of institutional information.

DISA is situated in the new portfolio of the Vice-Principal: Research & Innovation. DISA reports and analyses serve regularly at Executive Management Committee, Extended Management Committee, Council, Senate, Senate Tuition and Learner Support Committee, the Academic Human Resource Allocation Committee, the Audit Committee of Council, the Exams Review Committee and the Throughput Forum, amongst others. Members of DISA staff serve on numerous University committees and tasks teams.

DISA also works closely with members of senior management, the Executive Deans and other related departments in the University, in particular: ICT, Student Admissions and Registrations, Student Assessment Administration, Corporate Communications and Marketing, Academic Planning, the Research Directorate, HR and Finance.
