Social function and dress code
Note that we are in the winter season and days will be cold to mild, but the evenings are cold. Please note that social functions will have a limited open bar after which a cash bar will be available.
- Welcome Cocktail Function: Sunday 7 July - Smart casual
- Conference Dinner: Thursday 11 July – Formal
- The conference dress code will be casual.
Technical Site Visits and Afternoon Social Tours: Wednesday Afternoon:
- NECSA Nuclear Reactor Facility (max 60 persons)
Critical requirement: all delegates who attend this option must send a copy of their passport no later than 26 May 2013 for a security clearance check prior to entering the facility.

- National Centre for Nanostructured Materials at the CSIR (max 30 persons)
Cost: R150.00 (transport included)
- SAB World of Beer, Newtown, Johannesburg (max 44 persons)

- Pretoria City Tours
Pretoria, Capital of the ZAR, the Union of South Africa, the Republic of South Africa and the new South Africa. One of the stops is at the Union Buildings, home to the president’s office, from where you can delight in a panoramic view of the Jacaranda City, visit the Voortrekker Monument, Church Square, Kruger House Museum or Melrose House (we drive past both, with a visit to one), the embassy area and more on this all-time favourite tour.
Included in tour: guided transport and entrance fees. Duration of tour 3 hours (plus travelling time). Cost: R525 per person
- Lesedi Cultural Village
Lesedi – The Place of Light - is a multi-cultural African village and home to five African tribes (Basotho, Ndebele, Pedi, Xhosa and Zulu). It is about an hours drive from Pretoria and offers the following.
Guests are invited to the Ndebele village where an additional welcome by all the people of Lesedi, takes place. The cultural program begins with a multi-visual presentation on the history and origins of today’s rainbow nation. This is followed by a guided tour of the four ethnic homesteads – Zulu, Basotho, Xhosa and Pedi. The guests are then treated to a Pan African Buffet in the Nyama Choma Restaurant with delicacies from North, East and Southern Africa.
Included: transport, entrance fees and dinner. Cost: R900 per person

The Welcome function and Conference Dinner are both included in the Accompanying persons registration. Accompanying persons may select and pay for any additional site visit on Wednesday afternoon as part of the registration.
