4th International Conference on Financial Services (IFS)

The University of South Africa is proud to announce the 4th International Conference on Financial Services (IFS) previously known as the International Banking Conference (IBC). The conference will take place at the Sun International Wild Coast Sun Hotel from 2 – 4 October 2013.

The theme for the conference is “Critical transition in financial services”. We invite you to join us in investigating the transition of the financial services in terms of:

  • the journey to Basel III.
  • the challenges in moving towards the Solvency II requirements.
  • the cost implications of compliance.
  • the adaption and response to the financial crisis.
  • the regulatory impacts.
  • the ensuring of sustainability through effective risk management.
  • the continuous professional development (CPD) in financial services.

The aim of the conference is to investigate and evaluate the critical transition in the financial services industry after the financial crisis and how the transition will influence the industry in the years to come. Our keynote speakers Mr Nick Leeson and Mr Lesetja Kganyago (Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank) will present on the 3 October, with a Q&A session thereafter.  Other speakers include Mr Mike Finlay (Chief Executive: Risk Business); Dr Vuyo Mahlati (Principal Consultant: African Financial Group) and Mr George Guvamatanga (Managing Director: Barclays Zimbabwe).
