media releases - Unisa appoints new members to the Executive ManagementPress Release 2 August 2006 UNISA APPOINTS NEW MEMBERS TO THE EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT The Council of the University of South Africa announced the following appointments in the senior management of the University. The appointments are the culmination of a process that began with the extension of the contract of the Principal and Vice Chancellor Barney Pityana for a further term of office. Prof Bernardus Erasmus has been seconded to the Executive Management as Vice-Principal:Operations for a period of three years. The executive management team has also been strengthened by the appointment of two women as vice-principals. Professor Maria Mare has been appointed as the Vice-Principal: Academic and Research and Prof Kobie Kleynhans appointed as Vice-Principal: Finance and University Estates. Prof Pityana, Unisa Principal and Vice Chancellor said: “ I wish to congratulate all the colleagues appointed to the senior executive management of the University.
