media releases - Unisa to launch a historic research site22 NOVEMBER 2005 University of South Africa will launch a historic research site at the Loskop Dam Nature Reserve on Monday 28 November 2005. Members of the media are invited to the launch to be held at Aventura Loskop Dam near Middleburg in Mpumalanga Province at 10h00. The research site was established early this year by the Applied Behavioural Ecology & Ecosystem Research Unit (ABEERU). The Unit is formally based at the Loskop Dam Nature Reserve and conducts research at the Reserve in partnership with the Mpumalanga Parks Board. ABEERU functions as a centre of excellence within the College for Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at UNISA. The Unit conducts basic and applied research in nature conservation, forestry, agriculture and related fields.
