New exam dates for Hons BCompt/CTA

Students may have learned from news reports that the examination papers for the Honours B Compt / CTA had been stolen from a centre in Namibia.  Papers have reportedly been offered for sale to students of the university.

The School of Applied Accountancy finds this action on the part of a few reprehensible.  However, we wish to assure our many students with the required level of professional integrity, as well as our many other stakeholders, that we will jealously protect the high standards set by this School.

Therefore, all examination papers originally set for the October examination have been withdrawn.  New papers have been set and will be written on the following dates:

20 October 2005  - TOE409-X - Applied Taxation
24 October 2005  - TOE408-W - Applied Management Accounting
27 October 2005  - TOE412-S - Applied Auditing
31 October 2005  - TOE407-V - Applied Financial Accounting
3 November 2005  - TOECTA-E - Integrated paper

Please note that the Applied Auditing paper that was written on 12 October will be rewritten on 27 October.

The affected students are being contacted by sms, e-mail and telephone and the University regrets the inconvenience caused and wishes to assure its hardworking students and their families that everything will be done to ensure as little disruption as possible during this difficult examination time.

Two UNISA officials are in Namibia investigating the incident.  The police are also investigating.
