media releases - Unisa Graduation ceremony in Umtata15 June 2005 UNISA GRADUATION CEREMONY IN UMTATA The University of South Africa will be holding graduation two ceremonies in the Umtata on 18 June 2005. In the first morning ceremony 235 students will graduate at the Eastern Cape Technikon in the Cicira Utility Great Hall at 10h00. And about 249 students will then graduate during the afternoon ceremony at 14h00 in the Cicira Utility Great Hall. Two Masters of Laws degrees will also be conferred at the ceremony. Unisa Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Prof Barney Pityana, will confer the degrees and diplomas and deliver the congratulatory address during the ceremony. This year a total of 13 000 students will graduate during the University’s 50 graduation ceremonies to be held between April and July through main centres in Southern Africa. They will take place in Pretoria, Wellington, Bellville, Bloemfontein, Mokopane, East London, Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit, Kimberley, Durban, Umtata, Windhoek and Harare in Zimbabwe.
