media releases - Unisa will be holding graduation ceremonies in Polokwane

The University of South Africa will be holding three graduation ceremonies in Polokwane on Friday 7 May and Saturday 8 May.

The ceremonies will be held in the Jack Botes Hall on Friday 7 May at 18:00 and Saturday 8 May at 10:00 and 14:00. During the ceremonies a total of 388 students will receive degrees and 363 diplomas and certificates.

Prof Neo Mathabe, the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof Louis Molamu, the Registrar (Academic) and Prof A Kritzinger, Deputy Executive Dean of the College of Economic and Management Sciences, and Prof TS Maluleke, Deputy Executive Dean of the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education, will be officiating.

Nearly 12 000 students will have graduated at the completion of Unisa’s graduation ceremonies that began on Friday 16 April in Pretoria and will end in Windhoek on 19 June. They will take place in Pretoria, Wellington, Bellville, Bloemfontein, Polokwane, East London, Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit, Kimberley, Durban, Umtata and Windhoek. In total, 7 770 students will receive degrees of which 5 216 are bachelor degrees, 1 868 are postgraduate bachelor degrees 597 are master’s and 89 are doctorates. A further 4 203 diplomas will also be conferred.

Several of the ceremonies will include the former Technikon SA and Vudec students. A further six ceremonies specifically for former TSA students will take place between 22 June and 30 July in Middelburg, Rustenburg, Johannesburg and Pretoria.
