Unisa online - Limpopo region promotes agriculture offerings
Circuit manager Setlatjile-Mayishibe-Setlatjile addresses staff and students.
In what the Regional Communication and Marketing Unit called ‘Agriculture month’, staff members, with the help of Mr Setlatjile-Mayishibe-Setlatjile from CC&M, visited schools in two circuits in Capricorn District, promoting agricultural studies.
The first day was dedicated to Mankweng Circuit where grade 12 learners from eight high schools gathered to listen to presentations on opportunities in the field of agriculture. Learners were informed of diplomas and degrees that can be pursued. The other circuit visited was Koloti Circuit were six schools attended. More than 850 students were addressed during the road show.
The Department of Agriculture was invited to be part of the team and were there to inform learners how to access bursaries.
One of the learners said “I only thought of agriculture as some old people behind the tractor, but now I know what different qualifications can be pursued”.
Principals, teachers and circuit managers thanked the Unisa team for enlightening learners about agriculture and the inviting department for their bursaries.
