media releases - Scholars converge in Pretoria for TMALI Research Colloquium

On Thursday, 14 June 2012, scholars from Nigeria and different South African universities will converge in Pretoria for an intensive two-day Research Colloquium. The colloquium will be hosted by the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute (TMAIL), in collaboration with Unisa’s Research Directorate and African Monitor; and is part of TMALI’s knowledge generation strategy.

The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Paul Tiyambe Zeleza, Dean of the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts and Presidential Professor of African-American Studies and History, Loyola Marymount University. 

Papers will also be presented in the plenary session by a panel consisting of Archbishop Njongonkulu Ndungane, the President and Founder of African Monitor, Professor Wiseman Nkuhlu, Chairman of Pan African Capital Holdings and former Chief Executive Officer of NEPAD, Namhla Mniki-Mangaliso, Director of African Monitor as well as Dr. Alioune Sall, Executive Director: African Futures Institute.   

For the duration of the colloquium, delegates will go into parallel sessions where approximately thirty papers will be presented and discussed.
