media releases - Unisa looking at options to resolve students' financial needsUnisa is currently looking at various options to resolve the financial needs of its qualifying and deserving students. This year’s allocated funds have been depleted following a high number of applications for funding from qualifying and needy students beyond the allocated fund. In 2010, a total of R99 million in student funding was used to assist 12 548 students, while this year’s allocated budget of R112 million has already been used to assist 13 290 students. This 2011 allocation has been used to assist students who have registered during the first semester only. A further amount of R45 million is still required to assist students who have already registered for the first semester. The university will communicate the way forward to the affected students in due course. For more information contact: Doreen Gough or Lehuma Ntuane Other media releases News | Latest | Archive |
