Re: MR JULIUS MALEMA’S ALLEGED ENROLMENT FOR A LAW DEGREE

The University of South Africa has noted recent media reports on Mr Julius Malema’s matric results and alleged enrolment at Unisa for a law degree. Unisa would like to put the following on record and would appreciate it if the media would publicise the following:

1. Mr Malema is not a Unisa student currently and he was never registered for law or any degree studies at Unisa.
2. He was in fact registered in Unisa’s access or non-formal programmes and has not made any further progress.
3. Admission to degree studies at Unisa is regulated by the Minister of Education according to the Higher Education Act. Unisa abides by such admission requirements.

We have no record of Mr Malema having applied for admission to degree studies according to such admission requirements.
