UNISA’S MAURITIAN STUDENTS GRADUATE THIS WEEKEND On Saturday 28 June the University of South Africa will cap 150 students. The ceremony will take place in the Ballroom at Le Meridien Hotel at 15:00. Of the 150 students to graduate, 120 will receive their degrees and a further 30 students will receive their diplomas. This year just over 12 000 students will graduate from the University’s five colleges during the autumn ceremonies which begin on 21 April and end on 30 June. A total of 4 499 bachelor degrees, 2 320 honours degrees, 507 masters’ degrees and 35 doctorates will be conferred. Unisa will confer 7 361 degrees in total and a further 4 797 diplomas. Graduations will be held in Pretoria, Polokwane, Cape Town, Durban, Nelspruit, East London, Bloemfontein, as well as Harare, Gaborone and Mauritius. The University’s Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Prof Barney Pityana and the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mandla Makhanya will be among the Unisa officials presiding at the ceremony.
