Diploma in Education (Buckinghamshire Chilterns University, UK) - 2007 PhD (Psychiatric Recidivism & Risk Management) Brunel University (UK) - 2005 Master with Distinction in Public Health & Health Promotion. Research Interests

Risk identification and management in non-communicable diseases; psychiatric recidivism; psychopathology; Behavior Modification; retention and attrition in Higher education; usage of ICTs in Education.

Academic Career

Professor Tennyson Mgutshini was appointed from the USA in 2011 as a professor in public health within the Department of Health Studies and as of January 2013 was appointed as Manager Tuition and Learner Support within the Executive Dean’s office. He has previously worked as an Associate Professor and Principal Lecturer in a number of Universities in the United Kingdom and the USA.

Current Areas of focus in the College of Human Sciences:

Professor Mgutshini is primarily responsible for leading the College’s implementation of Community Engagement and Student Success strategies.  The latter role focuses on maximizing available information and mobile technologies as tools for teaching and learning.
