Connect to Unisa
Online networks make open distance learning (ODL) so much more effective, simply because "distance" can be bridged in a flash. Just as the world can’t do without networks, neither can ODL. To study at Unisa, you need to have online access, either at home or at an internet hub/café. If you live out of town, try using a friend’s or a neighbour’s internet, maybe? If you can’t make some plan to be online for at least an hour a week, then truthfully, ODL is probably not going to work for you. Our system is designed with the internet in mind. We use it as effectively as we can and so should you. Getting to know the myUnisa student portal will make your studies simpler, less stressful, more successful. Think of the internet as a study tool. It won’t read your study material or write your assignments for you; it will help you connect to your university and make the learning experience more rewarding. On myUnisa you’ll download your study material, submit assignments, get your results, contact lecturers, and so on (things you can’t do without). Compulsory online modulesSeeing that the internet provides such a rich environment for deep learning, we've added one compulsory online module in the curriculum of each of the colleges. These modules are referred to as "signature courses". Here’s a list of the signature courses we offer.
The world’s gone online and it’s staying that way. Come online with Unisa, you’ll find the road to success that much easier. |

Computers and the internet have changed the world – how we do business; how we interact and entertain ourselves; our cars, our phones, our food – everything depends, in some way, on digital networked information. To be effective in society, you must be able to use its networks.
