Qualifications:

BA (Gen) in English and Religious Studies, B A (Special Honours) in Religious Studies, M. A. in History of Christianity in Africa,  ( University of Zimbabwe); M A (Theological Studies) ( McCormick Theological Seminary: Chicago); Ph. D. (University of Zimbabwe).

Research Interests: 

His interests are in the areas of Christian history if Africa, with a particular slant on historiography, Church- State relations, Christianity and culture, and African Catholicism. He also has significant experience in Inter-faith dialogue. Lately, he has developed interest in researching Endogenous principles and mechanisms of dispute prevention, management and resolution among African Initiated Churches (AICs).

Prof Paul Gundani joined UNISA in 2003 as Associate Professor. He was appointed Professor in 2006. Previously, he had taught at the University of Zimbabwe where he  moved up the ranks as Tutor (1986), Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1987-1988), Staff Development Fellow (1989-1992), Lecturer (1992-2001) Associate Professor (2002).  He was COD of the Department of Christian Spirituality, Church History and Missiology from 2006 to 2011.
