Chance 2 Advance

C2A Pretoria February 2011

In February 2011, over 1500 students attended the Chance 2 Advance Programme in Pretoria. The programme consisted of 42 workshops. Students ranged from school leavers and the unemployed to professors, community leaders, NGO workers, business people and the general public.

Dr Genevieve James explained, “One of our deepest hopes for the programme was that we encourage a culture of learning and that we break down the walls between poor communities and learning opportunities.” She added that “by breaking down these walls we can create greater access and destroy the myth that learning and education is exclusively for the elite”.
