Work-Integrated Learning (WIL)
Specific modules in certain qualifications offered at Unisa include workplace-based learning that must be completed under the supervision of a suitably qualified and experienced person. This experience is mandatory for passing that module and achieving your qualification. Please check if your chosen qualification has work-integrated learning modules and, if so, make sure that you will be able to complete this component. Students who do not have placement at an employer can contact the relevant academic department for assistance in finding a suitable experiential learning provider.
All professional teaching qualifications have teaching practice as a compulsory component of the curriculum. If you live in a SADC country, you will need to make your own arrangements to do your teaching practice in your own country. Students who live in other countries will have to make arrangements to do the teaching practice in South Africa (during February and October) before the qualification can be completed. No registration for any professional teaching qualification will be accepted for students living in a foreign country unless the DSAR25 form is included with your registration form. Read more...
