Venue and Transport

The conference will take place at the Mopani Camp in Kruger National Park, Limpopo, South Africa. The Mopani Camp lies right on the Tropic of Capricorn along the Kruger National Parks Eastern boundary, on a rocky rise in the Kruger National Park, with a magnificent view over the Pioneer Dam, an area well known for its natural scenic beauty. The auditorium will host the keynote and plenary sessions. Other rooms in the conference centre will be available for parallel sessions. All conference rooms are equipped with facilities for PowerPoint presentations. The area for registration and the information desk will be located in the entrance hall of the Conference Centre.

Tourism and travel
The Mopani Camp Kruger National Park is in the Limpopo Province of South Africa and has various tourist attraction sites. Sight-seeing packages will be available for Conference Participants after the Conference. More information on scenic trips and day visits will be available to delegates at the Conference.

Transport
The Mopani Camp in the Kruger National Park (eastern boundary) is approximately 555 kms from the OR Tambo Airport (6 – 7 hours drive by car). The nearest gate is the Phalaborwa Gate which is 74 kilometres (46 miles) away from the Mopani Camp.

There are regular domestic flights to and from the Phalaborwa Kruger Park Gateway Airport which lies just 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) from the Phalaborwa entrance gate. Please book early  because these flights can get fully booked.

Directions
How to get to Mopani Kamp in the Kruger National Park, Phalaborwa Entrance Gate:

  • Take the N1 toll-road to Polokwane (Pietersburg)
  • Before reaching Polokwane turn right onto the R71 and head for Tzaneen
  • After Tzaneen head towards Phalaborwa
  • Allow between 6 to 7 hours for the trip
  • Mopani Rest Camp is 74km away, approximately a 3 hour drive

NB!!!
No delegate will be allowed into the Kruger National Park after the closing times of the Entrance Gates.
