1. Diplomas:
- N Dip: Animal Health (NDANM)
is a 3-year diploma (including 12 months of experiential learning). Minimum requirements are Matriculation Certificate, National senior certificate or equivalent. Applicants should have studied Biology, Physical Science and Geography or Agriculture in Grade 12 or equivalent. Mathematics, English and biology or Physical Sciences are strongly recommended. Major subjects are Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Diseases, Pharmacology, Epidemiology and Veterinary Public Health. It is compulsory for each student to register with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) and maintain the registration until completion of studies. - N Dip: Agricultural Management (NDAGR)
is a 3-year diploma (including 12 months of experiential learning). Minimum requirements are National Higher Certificate in Agricultural Management, Matriculation certificate, national Senior Certificate or equivalent. Applicants should have studied Biology, Physical science and Agricultural science in Grade 12 or equivalent level. Major subjects are Plant Production, Animal Production and agricultural Management.
2. Degrees:
- B Tech: Animal Health (BTANM)
is a 4-year degree in Animal Health through Open and Distance Education. The minimum requirements are National diploma Animal health or a qualification that is equivalent or related. Admission according to Recognition of Prior Learning policy will also be considered. Subjects are Epidemiology, Research methodology, veterinary Public Health or Animal Diseases and Business management.
- B Tech: Agricultural Management (BTAGM)
is a 4-year degree in Agricultural Management through Open and Distance Education. The minimum requirements are Matriculation Certificate, National Senior Certificate, and National Diploma in Agricultural Management or equivalent. Applicants should have studied Biology, Physical science and Agriculture in Grade 12 or equivalent level. Major subjects are plant production, Animal production, Financial Management, Strategic Management and leadership Development.
- Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science
is a 3-year degree. Minimum requirements are Matriculation Certificate with exemption, Senior School Certificate with endorsement, National Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent. Applicants should have studied Biology, Physical Science, Mathematics, Geography or Agriculture in Grade 12 or equivalent level. Majors are Plant Science and Animal Science.
3. Masters:

- Master in Agriculture
is a Research Masters Degree with a focus on the advancement of agricultural sciences, problem solving and scientific capacity building. Minimum requirements are Honours Degree in Agriculture and related science fields.
Science Foundation Programme
Science Foundation programme is an extended curriculum to a first degree or diploma programme which offers additional essential support linked to the existing curriculum, academic support by tutors, support by Peer-Collaborative Learning (PCL) and student referrals to relevant academic literacy classes based on the diagnostic test results.
Students are selected based on their Matric score. Only students having an M-score of 17 or lower registered for one or more of the following modules (Animal Diseases, Epidemiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Physiology, Animal Nutrition, Bio-resources Ecology and Production Economics and Management) qualify to be in the Science Foundation programme.
