Doctor of Literature and philosophy in Criminology

Description

As with all doctoral studies at Unisa, this is a research programme, meaning that students must put together a research proposal for a doctoral thesis. If this is accepted, a promoter is assigned to guide you in conducting your research and preparing your thesis. The general arrangement is that a student work to the promoter, usually chapter by chapter, for perusal and comment. When the thesis nears completion, the candidate advises the University Registrar of his or her intention to submit it for examination

Duration

Minimum of two academic years (two registrations)

Excepted duration is four years

An extension of the four year duration period could be granted by the University Senate

Doctoral students must re-register annually for the duration of their studies. The registration date for doctoral degrees is 31 March each year.
