General information

NB: 
All the modules in the National Diploma:  Correctional Services Management qualifications offered by the Department of Penology will be offered in Semester courses; that is Semester 1 and Semester 2 and all the modules in the BTech:Correctional Services Management and Honours qualifications offered by the Department of Penology will be offered as year courses.

Admission requirements:
All interested students can register for the instructional offerings as stipulated, and not only members of the Department of Correctional Services.

Students who are not employed in the Department of Correctional Services and who are considering registering for any of the instructional offerings should take note of the following:

  • The assignments and examinations contain certain questions requiring practical experience/exposure.
  • Students are sometimes expected to do assignments as a group. In order to comply with these requirements, you are advised to get in touch with other students who work in the Department of Correctional Services to form a study group.
