Admission to the Unisa Science Faculty

If you recently completed your schooling in South Africa and obtained:

A matriculation certificate (or senior certificate with matric exemption) and 40% for maths higher grade or 50% for maths standard grade then you may register with the Faculty of Science. 

If you have a matric exemption, but not the additional maths requirement:

You may register for MAT110 and MAT111 only.  These are modules offered by the Mathematics department at Unisa.  If you pass these modules, you are eligible for full registration.

If you do not have a matric exemption but do have a diploma, or are over 23 years of age: 

You may be granted conditional registration.

Access Exam:
If you have a senior certificate but not matric exemption:  

You may register for MAT011-K (elementary maths), and either
  ESD011-S (general english) or
  CSS011-G (english for science students).

Note: No tuition is offered for these modules, that is there are no assignments, etc.  You are however provided with study material which you can use to prepare for the exams.  Once you have passed these modules you are eligible to register in our faculty.
